Epidemiology, Statistics and Laboratory.

Epidemiology, Statistics and Laboratory Section

WELCOME

We are delighted to welcome you to our section. As you become more engaged, we encourage you to consider future opportunities for leadership, such as serving as an officer or contributing to conference presentations. The Epi/Stat/Lab Section represents professionals across these disciplines, and your participation will help strengthen our section.

In September 2015, several sections came together to form what is now the EPI/Stat/Lab Section. Since then, we have continued as a combined group, drawing strength from the diverse expertise and perspectives of our members. Our section is composed of professionals from state and local health agencies, academic institutions, and a variety of other organizations, as well as students preparing to enter the field. Collectively, we represent the disciplines of epidemiology, statistics, and laboratory science.

The diversity of our membership allows us to approach public health challenges from multiple angles, fostering collaboration and innovation. As a section, we are committed to providing meaningful opportunities for professional growth, networking, and knowledge-sharing. Each year, we work together to develop and present timely, engaging topics at the NCPHA Conference, ensuring that our sessions address current issues, emerging trends, and best practices in our fields.

In addition to our conference contributions, we actively represent the section on the NCPHA Advocacy Committee, helping to ensure that the voices and perspectives of epidemiologists, statisticians, and laboratory professionals are included in broader organizational initiatives. Through these efforts, our section strives to strengthen the public health workforce, support evidence-based decision-making, and promote the vital role our disciplines play in protecting and improving community health.

If you are not a member and are interested in joining the section or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to one of our officers. We look forward to connecting with you.
